Yahoo! launches Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger Apps for Android
Yahoo! has announced availability of Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger apps for Android as well as a Yahoo! Search Widget for Android.
With the new Yahoo! Mail App for Android, users can:
Receive push notification of new email messages
Send emails to contacts from the Yahoo! Address Book as well as to contacts in the native phone address book
Search email messages by sender, recipient, subject and keywords
Upload photos as attachments directly from the phone's camera or the photo gallery
View and download attachments
Insert emoticons and rich text formatting into emails
Effectively manage and organize their Yahoo! Mail messages, folders, and spam
Easily toggle between the Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger apps
With the new Yahoo! Messenger App for Android, users can:
Easily message friends, check friends' status updates and availability and update their personal status and availability
Send instant messages to friends via SMS text message1
Multitask and stay connected with the app working in the background; with push notifications, consumers can easily catch new messages and friend requests
Get full use of emoticons and rich text formatting
Send photos to friends directly from the phone's camera or the photo gallery
Yahoo! Search Widget for Android provides users with one-click access to Yahoo! Search. After the Widget is installed, a Yahoo! Search box is accessible on the home screen. With voice search for easier input, Search Assist for quick suggestions and recommendations, and auto-locate technology to deliver locally relevant results.
The Yahoo! Search Widget is currently available in the U.S. only for free. It is available for download in the Android Market and supports OS 2.0 or newer.
Samsung I9000 Galaxy S Released In India
The camera is the only weak point in Galaxy S along with the plastic build. The camera is of 5MP resolution with autofocus but no flash at all. The video is recorded at HD (720P) resolution at 30fps. A secondary camera for video chatting is also present with VGA resolution.
The Android version on Galaxy S is 2.1 (Eclair). The processor inside is one of the best in the market, ARM Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor with a clock speed of 1Ghz. The processor is based on 45nm fabrication process. Stereo FM Radio with RDS support is also present. GPS with aGPS and Digital Compass support is also present. The video player on Galaxy S supports codec like .avi, Divx, .mkv, which is excellent according to me.
The battery power is of 1500mAh Li-Po battery. The battery performance on Galaxy S is excellent, in fact second best after Samsung Wave. The Galaxy S is available in Black and Grey. Tata Docomo's BuddyNet no more offers free surfing on social networking sites.
Tata Docomo was initially giving free internet browsing on popular social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Orkut and Nimbuzz.This facility was only available for BuddyNet subscribers under the Tata Docomo Dive-In or Tata Docomo Internet apn.BuddyNet rental was applicable for availing this facility.
1.The browsing benefit of 2Paise/10KB is only applicable to browsing the specified Social Networking web/wap-sites namely – Facebook, Twitter, Nimbuzz, Linked- in and Orkut.However any embedded applications and external URLs/Links will be charged at base tariff rates( i.e. 1ps/1kb).
2.This promotional offer is valid on Tata DOCOMO Home & Tata DOCOMO roaming networks only,on other roaming networks it will be charged at 10p/10kb.
3.The benefit on special rates on browsing of Social Networking Sites on Tata DOCOMO BuddyNet will start at 12 midnight on the day of activation of Tata DOCOMO BuddyNet.
4.Skype applications are blocked on the Nimbuzz site.
