RIM Introduces Anti Theft Software Called Blackberry Protect

Research In Motion (RIM) has come up with a new security application called Blackberry protect.

The security app is similar to Nokia wave secure.In short this app can be used for protection against data lost, theft,etc.

However Blackberry protect application is currently in beta phase and one can download the application from blackberry Beta zone using a invite code.

Take a quick look at it key features Wireless backup and restoration of data

As soon as you are finished with the installation and registration part you will given the option to backup your contacts, calendar, memos, tasks, browser bookmarks and text messages. You may also enable an automatic backup action on daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Note: It requires data connection so be specific about your data plan before using this feature

Locate your blackberry on a map

By using this feature you can locate your blackberry’s exact location with the help of in-built GPS functionality of the smartphone

Remote device wipe

Worried your personal data may go in wrong hand after your device is lost? Just use this feature and delete all your data from phone memory as well as from micro CD card

Remote device look

If want to protect your from others in the event your forgot your blackberry somewhere use this feature. by using this you can set a password and a short message which will be displayed in the standby screen

Misplaced your blackberry somewhere in the house? Don’t worry simply log on to blackberry web portal and activate the loud ring feature this will make your blackberry to ring loudly for one minute even though if you are current profile is in silent mode
